SAVING BIKINI BOTTOM - color Scripts

These first color scripts are from a big song and dance sequence at the beginning of the movie, featuring Sandy Cheeks singing all about her love of science.

This ominous claw emerges from above, scooping up Bikini Bottom and everyone but Sandy and Spongebob, who must rescue their friends from the evil Sue Nahmee.

You can’t get more evil than a red palette, right?

In this sequence Sandy and SpongeBob decide to ride a hydrothermal vent to the surface and into the air, where they hitch a ride with a commercial jet to Galveston Texas. This is where all her friends are being held captive in a secret lab. The art director and I played around with the idea of making the bubbles a warmer color to indicate that the water shooting upwards was also very warm, but in the end they opted for the cooler version.
